Empowering Education: Nardone Electric’s Partnership with ENSATS

At Nardone, it’s a source of great pride whenever we have the opportunity to contribute to our community. Our collaboration with Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School (ENSATS) on the construction of the Catherine Larkin Memorial Cottage holds significance for us. This structure will serve as both a museum and a function facility, paying homage to the local history of the school and commemorating the remarkable story of Lt. Catherine Larkin, a Salem, MA native and World War II nurse who once studied home economics at ENSATS. Tragically, Lt. Larkin lost her life during the war while serving in India alongside her fellow nurses. In her memory, the cottage was erected in 1950 and has since been utilized for the school’s home economics program.

Our contribution of expertise and materials played a crucial role in modernizing the building’s fire alarm system. Through the donation of over 2000 feet of updated fire alarm cabling system, we ensured the safety and security of the facility. Additionally, through collaboration with the school, we offered hands-on training to electrical students and conducted a comprehensive review of electrical plans to seamlessly integrate modern electrical systems into the renovated space, providing invaluable experience guided by industry professionals.

The gratitude for our involvement in this project, as well as our donation of materials and time, was eloquently expressed by Essex North Shore’s Superintendent, Dr. Heidi Riccio.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of our trade organizations like Nardone Electric. Their generous donation of time, expertise, and materials is a testament to their commitment to the future building trades workforce. This partnership allows us to provide our students with authentic learning experiences that will prepare them for success in their future careers.”

Our team works with ENSATS students to wire the cottage.

Similarly, our President, Steve Nardone, emphasized our firm belief in investing in the next generation of electricians.

“Supporting educational institutions like ENSATS is at the heart of our values. We believe in investing in the next generation of electricians and providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their field. It’s an honor to be a part of ENSATS’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development.”

At Nardone Electric, enriching our community is ingrained in who we are. We are dedicated to leaving a lasting impact by empowering the next generation with the tools they need to drive progress forward. It’s a privilege to be part of projects like the one at Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School, where our commitment to education and community shines through.
